Mr VP Singh served as Member (Judicial), National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and presided over the Kolkata, Allahabad and Mumbai Benches of the Tribunal from 2016 to 2019.
Mr Singh was then elevated and appointed as Member (Technical), National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), Principal Bench, New Delhi, from where he superannuated in 2022 and joined Revera Legal as a Partner and its chief advisor.
Prior to joining the NCLT in 2016, Mr Singh served in the Higher Judicial Services (HJS) of the State of Uttar Pradesh in a career spanning over 35 years.
During his tenure at the NCLT and NCLAT, Mr Singh dealt with and disposed of matters relating to commercial disputes, corporate law and the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code, including contractual disputes involving large-scale financial transactions affecting the Indian economy at large.
Mr Singh has delivered over 200 judgments that have been reported and published in all major law journals. He has presided over important national matters receiving global coverage, such as the Antrix-Devas ISRO matter, Jaypee Infratech insolvency, Dewan Housing matter and the IL&FS matter.
